I love fall, but with the winter chill coming soon, I’m embracing what that new season will bring, which means I’m craving warm and inviting colors, like these delicious tones. From signature cranberry cocktails to sparkly shoes and gowns in darker hues, let winter inspire a truly regal affair. And since winter weddings are rare, you can really make your event stand apart from the rest.

As soon as you set the date send out “save the date” cards or better yet magnets so it is harder for your close friends to misplace.
Ladies, October is breast cancer awareness month, and we need to come together and support our ta- ta’s. Without a doubt, An Elegant Affair Events is here to support. Please help us out by sending your most creative and unique photo of you and your significant other putting your “two-lips” to work.
The contest will go on during the month of October, and we will choose a winner at the end of the month.
The winner will receive a free bridal bouquet of her choice.
Not only does the winner receive a gorgeous bridal bouquet, but a percentage of all bookings participating in the contest during the month of October will be given to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Please email all photos and inquiries to erica@elegantaffairevents.net, and tell us why your picture is the most unique, and we will post the winner at the end of the month. The winner must book their wedding (minimums apply) with An Elegant Affair Events to redeem prize.
Good luck ladies!

This is SO gorgeous for wrapping up during upcoming fall and winter weddings! This Theresa Pearl Wrap by Coast is also under $50! Doubly wonderful!
I believe that every event should have a Jaw Dropping Moment (JDM). The one time in the evening where your guests step back and think, “Did I just see that?” It’s an unexpected delight, one that will leave them talking about your party well after the honeymoon is over. JDMs can be either large or small. The more diminutive are usually the result of well-placed details, fantastic timing and a little bit of ingenuity that will give your guests a moment to pause and feel something wonderful.
On the other end of the spectrum, you can also go big and show stopping, something that takes their breath away and makes them think, “Wow!” The possibilities are endless when you let your imagination take hold.
Here are 4 of my favorite wow-inducers:
1) Interactive Bar or Dance Floor—The magic is in the lighting and what seems like décor can become an interactive art experience for you and your guests. Lights rhythmically move as your guests move on the dance floor, reacting to the beat of the music; or follow a drink as it’s passed from bartender to guest, creating an unexpected, colorful experience.
2) Fire Blower or Spinner—Bring on the heat with a little carnival-esque entertainment. Fire blowers or spinners can kick off your reception with a flash, intriguing guests with the danger and beauty of the blaze.
3) Electric Violinist—Nothing is more stylish than when you offer the right blend of hip with the classic. If you’re seeking a cool edge, consider the sensuality of an electric violinist. The surprise comes in the combination of the classic strings with the pop-beats of the DJ or band.
An electric violinist can be quite versatile throughout the evening, welcoming guests with soothing music and then escalating to an upbeat, dance-floor vibe.
4) Aerialist—For a complete JDM, consider bringing a little Cirque Du Soleil to your wedding party. Performance artists suspend in mid-air, hanging on to a length of fabric, twisting and turning into seemingly impossible acrobatic positions. Your guests will be spellbound as they watch the aerialist move above their heads. Yes, this one is VERY over the top – but it gets your ideas flowing…
As always…more to come!

Brassica flowers are a great choice for winter brides looking for something a little different and are available in beautiful whites, greens and purples as well as some red shades too. Green and white brassicas, white lisianthus, eucalytus and dracaena.
Have you heard of poppers? They are tiny flowers. We ran across them and instantly thought they would be such a fun idea to provide for all of the women and even men (if you like) attending your wedding. Their own personal little flower to wear during the wedding and a special memory to take home to remember your wedding day.
These cute tiny flowers are made by EmersonMade. They have bag o’ poppers of 50 in a bag for $175.00. They are available in Vintage Yellow, Vintage Navy, Vintage Red, Friday Purple, BlueBell, and Wednesday Pink! You can match your wedding color. If they don’t have your color, they have custom color options available too.
